Running a wall for ten years.

The questions that decide whether an installation ages well. Most of them should have been asked before purchase, which is why they are on the public site rather than in a client portal.

How many spare cabinets should we hold?
Between 2% and 5% of the installed cabinet count, rounded up, and never fewer than one of each unique cabinet type. Spares must come from the same production batch — LED bins drift between runs, and a replacement from a later batch will be visibly a different white until it is recalibrated against the wall.
What actually fails?
In order: power supplies, then receiving cards, then individual modules. Bare LED failure is rare and usually indicates the wall has been run near full drive for years. Nothing on that list requires a specialist if the wall is front-serviceable.
How fast does calibration drift?
A wall run at 40% drive holds within visual tolerance for roughly three to four years. At 80% drive, expect eighteen months. Drive level is the dominant variable — far more than age or hours.
Can a module from a different batch be matched?
Yes, by recalibrating the replacement against the installed wall rather than against the factory target. It takes a couple of hours on site. Any supplier who tells you a replacement will drop in and match perfectly without calibration is describing a wall they have not had to repair.
What happens when the processor is discontinued?
This is the real long-term risk and it is rarely discussed at purchase. Receiving-card protocol is proprietary per manufacturer, so a discontinued processor line can strand a wall. We hold processor stock for the supported life of every cabinet series we ship and will state that period in writing.
Does an LED wall need a maintenance contract?
Not necessarily. A front-serviceable wall with a spares holding and one trained person on site can run for years without one. What a contract buys is calibration visits and the guarantee that spares stay available — decide whether you need those, not whether you need "support".
